Road Rage

Most everyone has heard horror stories about Massachusetts drivers. The closer you get to a metropolitan area, the more cars there are on the road and it seems an exponentially larger number of BAD DRIVERS. I’m not the world’s best driver, but I have a few rules of the road that I follow:

  • The road is mine. I have a destination and I know how to get there. Get out of my way.
  • ALWAYS use your directional signal, even if there is no other vehicle around to see it.
  • Speed limits are guidelines. Learn where the cops are likely to be and moderate speed accordingly.
  • YIELD to vehicles in a rotary. They have the right of way and idiots causing accidents just slow the commute for everyone.
  • Horns and high beams are not just safety items. Use them to let other drivers know they’ve been jerks when cutting you off.

I’ve calmed down a lot in dealing with other drivers on the road. The driving offense that is my pet peeve is every idiot who feels the need to fly down the road at 90+ mph, swerving across multiple lanes of traffic without ever using a directional. There’s never a cop around when those idiot drivers are out. Are they in that much of a hurry to get to the next red light?

What are your bad driving habits? What do other drivers do to hit a nerve with you?
